SUMMARY

This issue publishes “Matisse” — a novel by Aleksandr Ilichevsky, “The Sergeant” — a story by Zakhar Prilepin, “People and Things” — stories by Yevgeny Shklovsky, “Stories about Love” by Yelena Dolgopyat as well as two stories by Victor Remizov. The poetry section of this issue is made up of the new poems by Inna Lisnyansakaya, Dmitry Polishchuk, Alena Karimova, Daniil Chkonia and Linor Goralik.

The sectional offerings are as follows:

Philosophy. History. Politics: “News from Underground”: essays “The Anti-hero” by Victor Biryukov, “A Parody of the Existencialist Novel” by Aleksandr Sukonik and “Notes from Underground: A Musical Moment” by Sergey Bocharov — Dostoyevsky’s “Notes from Undeground” from the point of view of contemporaneity.

Essais: a family essay by Sergey Kostyrko “Grandfather. Regarding the Notion of the Archaic”.

Comments: “Russia Fairy Tales” — Alla Latynina continuing with the subject of modern Russian dystopias brought up by Valeriya Pustovaya in the issue № 1. The latest novels by Dmitry Bykov and Vladimir Sorokin are discussed.
