SUMMARY

The poetry section of the issue presents poems by Sergei Novikov, Alexander Pokrovsky, Alexei Alekhin and lately deceased Vladimir Sokolov (publication by Marianna Rogovskaya-Sokolova, afterword by Natalya Arishina).

We are publishing the short narrative "Foreigners" by Roman Solntsev, the narrative "Mushroomers Go with Knives" by Valery Popov, as well as the autobiographical work "Towards Evening on the Far Hill... Thoughts about Childhood and Babyhood" by Daniil Zhukovsky (publication by T. Zhukovskaya).

The section "Publicistics" is presented by the article "At the Black Sea Theatre of War" by V. Novikov.

In the section "Far Nearness" we are publishing the articles "Military Tribunals at Work" by M. Delagrammatik and "New about Soviet Heroes" by M. Petrov and O. Edelman.

The section "Publications and Reports" contains the article "Ode. The Story of a Short Life" by Ilya Safonov, as well as correspondence by Vyacheslav Ivanov and Lidia Zinovyeva-Annibal with A. Golshtein (publication, foreword and comments by A. Tyurin and A. Gorodnitskaya).

In the section "Literary Criticism" we are publishing the articles "Time and Place. Notes about Three Poets" by Yevgeny Shklovsky, "A Messenger without Messages. On the poetry by Ivan Zhdanov" by Nikolay Slavyansky, "A Cosy Little House with a View of the Abyss" by Larisa Miller, as well as the essay "Literature Fit for Pulp" by Andrei Vasilevsky.

The issue also presents our traditional sections "Reviews", "Russian Books Abroad" and "Bibliography".
